Node pre-deployment checklist
ACKCIO NODE · Complete the Gateway pre-deployment checklist before you start
1Device Setup
- Fix the antenna securely to the node: antenna must be vertically oriented at all times
- Insert ER34615 3.6V 19Ah D-cell batteries manufactured within the last 3 months. Recommended brands: Saft, Tadiran, Eve · Do not use old or discharged batteries
2Firmware
- All nodes come preloaded with latest firmware: no action needed
Notice · DG nodes onlyInstall the sensor manufacturer's specific firmware onto the DG node before commissioning.
3Prepare the Ackcio Nimbus App
- Download latest Ackcio Nimbus App from Google Play Store: requires Android 8.0 or above
- Ensure Gateway Snape setup is completed with Project created before proceeding
Via Gateway WiFi Hotspot
1. Connect Android to Gateway WiFi (e.g. Ackcio_Beam_XXXX: XXXX = GW ID)
2. Open Nimbus App → select HTTP
3. Enter: http://192.168.0.10 → download project
Via Remote.it (internet)
1. Both Android & Gateway must have internet
2. Open Nimbus App → select HTTPS
3. Use Remote.it link (COQ/Snape → Settings → Remote Tile) → download project
4Follow Commissioning Guide
- Watch the commissioning video for your node and sensor before you start. Pick your node type to see its videos:
5Run Network Test (MANDATORY)
- Node must detect at least 2 nearby devices (nodes or the Gateway) before being fixed in position
If NO devices found: DO NOT drop the node! Elevate the node/antenna or add a repeater between node and nearest GW/node. Never permanently fix a node with zero nearby devices.
6Sync Project with Gateway
Auto-sync (no action needed)
Nodes auto-sync when Nimbus App is connected to Gateway WiFi hotspot or Remote.it link during commissioning.
Manual sync required
If auto-sync did not occur: connect Nimbus App to Gateway WiFi hotspot or Remote.it link, then tap 'Project Sync' (in red) → wait for red indicator to disappear.
Without syncing, the Gateway will NOT recognise the commissioned nodes.
Node Installation Best Practices
Antenna & Signal
- Antenna vertically oriented always
- ≥ 18 in from metal · ≥ 12 in from other antennas
- Run noise/network test via Nimbus App before fixing
Deployment & Enclosure
- Deploy closest to GW first, work outward
- Verify each mesh link before moving on
- Use Ackcio brackets & weatherproof enclosure
